Guest
Background: I have this problem on a ThinkPad P52 running Linux and a ThinkPad E560 running Windows 10.

The indexing never completes, even if I leave AnyTxt running for several days.

Symptoms: The P52 never gets past 98% complete. The E560 never gets past 72% complete, and usually not past 68%. In all cases the progress bar in the lower left corner always shows that something is happening. There is no further progress even if the computers run for many days.

The atservice log files show several things happening that are inefficient which may contribute to this problem:

1. “[1794 : Indexer.cpp] Post PDF to OCR …” for lots of PDF files that have already been OCR’d, apparently repeating what can be a long process for large files (of which I have many).

2. Repeated indexing and watching of huge data files that update constantly. There does not appear to be a way in AnyTxt to exclude specified folders from indexing other than setting the exclusions for each file type (in Options > Index Management > Index Rules). The log entries look like:

[ 239 : Watcher.cpp] Remove file: F:\Cpoernic-Index-TP1\Index\Index\_1ofr_Lucene41_0.doc].
[ 883 : Indexer.cpp] Remove file -1533194190686402331[F:\Cpoernic-Index-TP1\Index\Index\_1ofr_Lucene41_0.doc].

I would like to help debug why AnyTxt stalls at X% of indexing completion. If I can run some text or provide log files, please contact me by email. The program seems very good, if this can be solved.
