Indexing Never Completes

I’m a new user. When I run a search, the program tells me that it may not be complete because indexing hasn’t finished. It has been running for three days now. How long should I expect it to run?

Also, Chrome flags the download as a suspicious file. Can that problem be solved by the developers?
