Hi
To the care and attention of the developers of “AnyTxt”
I have already tested this program, “Anytxt” search, several times but I always ended up uninstalling it.
I came to test again because there is a new version. But the problem remains: it takes up too many system resources, especially at the CPU level, with averages of 30% usage, in addition to the huge amount of RAM it uses (more than 1GB, in my case).
As a result, the system overheats and the fans fire. For this reason, multitasking becomes almost impractical, with some Apps freezing.
Another drawback is the lack of information about files that are being, or have already been, indexed. When I go to the “File index manager” window, the number of files displayed do not change, even when doing a “refresh”, but the program indicates that it continues to index, with the CPU, at 30%.SUGGESTIONS
1) in addition to choosing when (time) indexing is carried out, there should be 3 levels of indexing performance:
- Full,
- Medium/Low and
- “Smart”, the latter adjusting its performance to PC usage.
2) It should clearly show the files that are being indexed (in the main window itself), with their respective paths (e.g., it could be in the ribbon at the bottom of the main window)
I hope some of these suggestions can one day be implemented because the app, in itself, has a lot of potential.
In the meantime, I’ll see, after a few hours of indexing, what the app’s behavior will be… then I’ll decide whether to uninstall it (again) or not!
With my thanks

AbbieModeratorHello.
