Hi, I’m using the Anytxt Searcher 1.3.2034 Free OCR version and have added a folder to the File Index Manager dialog that contains a lot of PNG files that have screenshots containing lots of text (the text is clear in these images). Anytxt has competed indexing this folder and says that ~1300 files have been indexed in the “Count” column again the PNG file type.

When I search for words that I know are in any of these images they do not show up in the search results. The only way I get any of the images showing up is when the word i’m searching for is in the name of the image file itself.

Are there any limitation to what the text needs to look like for OCR to work? Is there anything I can do to debug this?

    Hello,Jimi.

What language is the text in the png image? What language is your computer using?

Please send the files in the directory C:\ProgramData\Anytxt\log  to support@cbewin.com.

    Thank you.

I went through the logs and all of the image scanned resulted in the text found being of 0 length. So that’s why it can’t find anything in search because it hasn’t indexed any of the text. Here’s an example of one of the image scan cases and details of the GPU (Discrete and SOC GPUs) that it’s running on (every case looks like this):

    [2025/05/19-105105] [ 102 : mainreal.cpp] GPU 3(Intel(R) Iris(R) Xe Graphics) type 1.
    [2025/05/19-105105] [ 102 : mainreal.cpp] GPU 3(NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop GPU) type 2.
    [2025/05/19-105107] [ 397 : mainreal.cpp] OCR engine start success, GPU 2, thread num 8.
    [2025/05/19-105107] [ 270 : rpcserver.cpp] Extract take: 2500 ms, text length: 0.

At the start of the logs it’s selecting “[2025/05/19-131323] [ 53 : mainreal.cpp] Languages: en-US” which is correct. All the text in the images are also in English.
