Why index every files in every drive while installing?

I thought installer crashed-but soon realized that a sneaky new service process is creating 3GB+ index file in installed directory.

I am totally fine with index db size but also think that installer should ask to user before starting such big process. It even does not have option of assigning search targets (not even drive level!)

 

I will never use this again.
